Go-Go-Gomez

I can’t tell you how glad and how happy I am for Mario Gomez. Although I’m not particular a Stuttgart supporter, I’m just pleased that he scored again and thus his late injury-time goal was responsible for the 1-0 victory over Hamburg. After weeks and weeks of Gomez bashing and bullying, he once again silenced his opponents by scoring that winner. Okay, his performances in international caps were not exactly first class but a player who scored 15 goals this Bundesliga season and helped his team with further goals to important wins in the national cup and the UEFA-Cup does not deserve to be bullied by the media. That is ridiculous. But I’m sure he will score on and on and will eventually net in the international caps.

In the other Sunday game, Bremen achieved a 1-1 at Bayer Leverkusen who simply can’t win the ‘home games’ anymore. While Bremen missed out a lot of good opportunities, Leverkusen’s Stefan Kießling hit the ball against the post after leaving Bremen’s defense and goalkeeper Tim Wiese behind him. #fail.
