A last defiant struggle
As expected, the 08/09 Champions League season ended yesterday with a 1-1 draw against Barcelona. Although the crowd went wild by reveling Jürgen Klinsmann, you have to admit that Bayern Munich did actually not any worse than in the last eight years. Quite the opposite, they dominated the group phase and lost only one game, the 0-4 in Barcelona, appalling though. But if you play with a Christian Lell and a few others of that category on an international level you absolutely cannot ask for more. There are no backups who are able to compensate drop outs like in the defense or attack. Luca Toni was the only striker they had in both legs. The fans should question the team and the acquisition policy of the managers rather than the coach who, in my eyes, did everything he could with this team. Anyway. Next stop Bielefeld, Bundesliga, winning three points in order to remain the last chance to win a trophy.
