‘You bum. It’s offside!’

Almost 50.000 people heard this neutral and objective phrase through the speakers during the 73^rd minute of the Bundesliga game between Cologne and Leverkusen. Stadium announcer Michael Tripper denied saying this to the referee, though. Instead he provided a very plausible excuse. After he announced a substitution he forgot to turn off the microphone while a fan shouted those words. Sure.

But you think what happened in Cologne was an individual case? Nope, they’ve got a tradition. It reminded us of Tripper’s predecessor Hans-Gerd König who once shouted the words `My God, what a f*** game again!’ into the microphone. And that, was not by mistake.
